A physician and sleep researcher, Dr. Hakim found EPAP effective for snoring and sleep apnea — but existing devices were uncomfortable and required a prescription. He set out to build a more comfortable mask with adjustable pressure, and had it FDA-cleared as an over-the-counter anti-snoring device so anyone could use it without a prescription. And so the OptiPillows EPAP Mask was born.
